“My blood pressure reading was quite a shock given that only five years previously my blood pressure was normal.”

When Ian Parsley was told his blood pressure was so dangerously high he needed to seek immediate medical advice it came as a total shock. Ian was just 45 years old, had no major concerns about his health, and as a hockey umpire maintained a certain level of fitness.

Ian’s high blood pressure was detected after he attended an event where our Health Promotion team were offering blood pressure checks. Ian is sharing his story in support of our current blood pressure awareness campaign.

Something to Celebrate?

Do you or a colleague have a big birthday, anniversary, retirement or milestone approaching?

Any special occasion can be made extra enchanting by knowing that you will also be giving us the precious gift of helping support people with chest, heart and stroke illnesses and saving lives across Northern Ireland.

‘Donating in celebration’ couldn’t be easier – simply ask your friends, family and work colleagues to make a donation to us instead of giving you a gift via your own personal celebration fundraising page which we will happily set up for you.
