Local SMEs need your support!

Today I want to talk about something that's been on my mind recently - the protection of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs). I have seen so many initiatives saying #local and #supportlocal but the needle doesn’t seem to be moving. It's not enough to just pay lip service to supporting them and still continue to shop at large corporate stores. We need to take action and change our buying behavior.

#SMEs are the backbone of the global economy and play a vital role in creating jobs, driving innovation, and contributing to economic growth. They support local communities by providing employment opportunities and stimulating economic activity by reinvesting their profits and earnings. But unfortunately, they are increasingly being overshadowed by large corporations with deeper pockets.

If we fail to protect SMEs, it can have devastating consequences on our towns and local economy. The loss of income and uncertainty that SMEs face can lead to reduced spending and consumption, which can have a ripple effect on the overall economy. This is especially true for smaller towns where SMEs are often the primary source of employment and economic activity.

So, what can we do? I believe we need to take action and change our buying behavior. We can start by supporting local SMEs by buying and referring them to our friends in our community. Even if it's just baby steps, we need to take action now to help protect the SMEs.

How many SMEs are in our community??

How can we prioritize shopping at local stores rather than large corporations??

How can we promote local businesses to our friends and family both on social media and in real life.

By taking these small steps, we can help protect SMEs and support our local communities. It's time to act now!
