IS LOCAL PHILANTHROPY A FORM OF BEGGING?

In my interactions with friends and close ones. i have met friends who say they believe my team is doing so well because "They are not good at asking for money from others". It is hard to ask people for favours they say, even those you know very well sometimes mistaken an ask for begging.
One good quality of a "Fundraiser" is the ability to "Dare and ask". After pitching your idea and your methodologies, you need to complete it with an "Ask". This is where you share the resources and money required to see your intervention come to live to your listener or donor and now put up an ask for support.
But "How does one differentiate Local fundraising and begging?"
Mostly begging is done for personal gains, for example, asking for money for food. This is very likely to repeat in the same maner without any results to show for what has been requested for. Begging is most likely not part of any plan and has no form or structure
Local fundraising is mostly part of a well planned intervention, it could be enterprenueral or developmental. Before a local fundraiser will be initiated, project formation and anticipated results using the provided budget will be in place. A local fundraiser will be structured, in the form of an event, or a structured program.
Local fundraising will lead to developmental interventions and will have impacts to showcase for the resources invested unlike begging.
Local fundraising will also be done most likely by a group of people as compared to begging which will be done by an individual.
Local fundarising is not begging, it is an ask towards empowering the people by the people. It gives the donor a space to make a choice, either to give or not, without an offense taken. It also gives the donor the option to give in kind or in time, depending on what the donor can afford.
In our various communities, we can be fundraisers ourselves towards interventions in our communities to better lives, and when volunteers stand up for such interventions, kindly support them and together we can change the narrative in our communities.
