Local perspectives on vulnerability in Hadramawt

The vulnerability people face in Al Mukalla and Sayun,?Hadramawt governorate, is almost always multidimensional and cannot be separated along sectoral lines. We have identified four main drivers of vulnerability: economic conditions, conflict-related state fragility, climate and environmental risk, and social norms. This is the first report in a series of six localised studies.

2.5 million people live in areas at risk of experiencing a deterioration into IPC 4+ in both Government of Yemen and Ansar Allah-controlled areas, according to the Joint Monitoring Report (JMR) modelling, using data until January 2024. The JMR combines quantitative modelling and qualitative analysis to provide robust bi-monthly food and nutrition security?monitoring.
