WINNIPEG, MB - One year ago, MADE HERE opened its doors as a one stop shop for Winnipeggers and visitors to buy local and give local. Over 120 local artisans have participated in Made Here, with products ranging from candles to candies, beautiful ceramics to stunning prints, and so much more.
The best part is that each maker has donated 10% of every sale towards four local children’s charities: Art City, Junior Achievement of Manitoba, Snowflake Place for Children + Youth, and The Dream Factory.
Over the last twelve months, that support has resulted in $20,000 raised for the four charities - all from members of our community dedicated to supporting local makers and local charities.
“It’s been a really wonderful year being part of Made Here,” said Andrew Kussy, Development Manager at The Dream Factory, “Many of our donors, and even our families have made trips to the space to do their gift shopping and know that they are also supporting a cause that is important to them.”
Made Here was created as a partnership between Vantage Studios and Made Here For You.
“When we started Made Here, we wanted to focus entirely on making a difference locally. We’re so excited to have had the support of so many incredibly talented local makers, and to be able to now donate $5000 to each of our 2018-19 charities,” said Kyle Romaniuk, CEO of Vantage Studios.
Looking ahead to 2019-2020, the team at Made Here hopes to make an even bigger impact on the community and will be supporting The Dream Factory - a local children’s charity with a personal connection to Vantage CEO and former Dream Factory recipient, Kyle Romaniuk.
