A local firm, Bovill Ltd, are kindly raising ￡4,500 to help us provide (much needed) financial capability training to young people leaving care

Bovill’s London office is taking on the National Three Peaks challenge on 9-10 June 2017 to help Young Futures provide financial capability training for young people leaving care in our local community.

Please support them by making a donation to improve the lives of vulnerable young people - ￡28 will fund two hours of training, ￡56 a half day and ￡112 a full day, but donations of all sizes will be gratefully received!

Who are Young Futures?

We work with Young Futures, a local social enterprise that supports vulnerable young people (16-21 yrs old) leaving the care system, helping them to develop important life skills to enable their transition towards independent living and a positive future.

One of the key problems these young people face in their journey to independence is lack of a financial capability skillset. They simply haven't received the financial education and advice that they need to cope with independent life, and they do not have the family support that many of their peers take for granted.

As a result, many young people leaving care suffer problems with managing and sustaining their tenancies, budgeting, economising, claiming the support due to them and managing debt. These issues can be devastating, and can result in mental health problems, extreme anxiety/depression and the threat of homelessness. 

How will your support help?

A team of 12 Bovill staff will climb the highest peaks in England, Scotland and Wales IN JUST 24 HOURS! We are aiming to raise ￡4,500 which will allow Young Futures to deliver one-to-one training on financial independence to 40 young care leavers. This training will empower the young people to cope safely and securely with the financial challenges of everyday independent life.

We are very grateful for any donation you can make and Bovill will reimburse all of the website charges incurred by Young Futures, so every ￡ you donate will go directly to them.
