Local Expertise, International Standards

Leaders often possess a wealth of strategic knowledge and skills; however, if these skills are not aligned with the context in which they are applied, performance suffers. Business cannot be "just business," depending only on logic and ignoring the environment. It is essential that business decisions take into account non-commercial factors such as traditions, the administrative and judicial system and (most importantly) human conditions.

From its beginnings, CETD Cameroon has been an independent observer to public procurement commissions, key ministries and large public enterprises: SNH, CSPH, CAMTEL, CRTV, ADC, MAETUR, and SIC. CETD has also contributed to the preparation of tender documents, and the monitoring of procurement procedures and contract negotiations, which has given it a differentiated strength in mastering the local context for its clients.

In addition, through its key staff, CETD has managed major public investment projects, from initial needs assessment through to implementation — including providing assistance in setting up external financing on behalf of the Cameroonian State — thus establishing a strong reputation for rigorous project execution.

Today, on the strength of this experience, at CETD CAMEROON, all decisions, whether technical in nature or related to our development consultancy, are taken on the basis of a thorough knowledge of the cultural environment, infrastructure and business in Cameroon, combined with the highest international standards of operations and ethics.

CETD supports Cameroonian SMEs, but also large enterprises such as the Chinese company TIEC, where it provides technical assistance and acts as the interface between companies and government administration entities.

Great article Joel Nana Kontchou and congrats on the new move. I agree with the premise of your article. Cultural awareness is one of the biggest factors in success of most endeavors that need people to succeed, be it business or even personal.
