the lobsterpot< newswrap – pot patients proving profitable?
Another week is here, thermidor< ks!?
If like me you’ve been trying to enjoy the increasingly sparse glimpses of sunshine this past week, you’ll have noticed the distinct scent of barbecues wafting around the neighbourhood. And what better accompaniment to a burnt burger and a lukewarm sausage than a can (or seven) of lager, lager, lager??
But why? How did this unholy pairing come to pass? While libation is indeed an essential part of the garden grill experience, you’d think that all the smoke emanating from each side of the fence would provide an opportune moment to ‘break out the bud’.?
Alas, this rarely seems to be the case. That said, given how much medical cannabis us Brits consume, perhaps the times really are a-changin…
Brits are spending a LOT more on medical cannabis than their EU counterparts – some 144% more. The bud boffins at Prohibition Partners reckon Britain’s high price-per-patient is due to the medical market being private – meaning patients absorb the total cost: unlike in Germany where half the cost is covered by public healthcare.
It’s been pointed out (by prominent anti-cannabis campaigner, Kevin Sabet) that DEA Administrator, Anne Milgram, ‘did not sign the rescheduling order’ – causing speculation that the process of moving cannabis from Schedule 1 to 3 could take several years instead of a couple of months.?
We shall see.
It seems like the tides are turning in the right direction in Pakistan. It appears that high inflation and the need for regulation are the primary driving forces behind the nation’s turnabout stance on medical cannabis and CBD.
Despite intoxicants (including alcohol) being forbidden in the eyes of the country’s religious leader, cannabis crops have been grown for centuries in the nation’s far north. However these new developments will restrict THC levels to 0.3% – to discourage recreational use.
If the prospect of Thailand reverting to a medical-only market wasn’t bad enough news already for the some 6000+ dispensaries across the South East Asian country; now the prospect of the authorities cracking down on anything over 0.2% THC has canna fans reeling with their reefers.
A new study from London’s Imperial College shows that MS patients undergoing cannabis treatments saw significant improvement within 6 months. While that’s no surprise for us believers, empirical evidence of this nature stands to literal reason. Or in other words, the results speak for themselves.?
One day we might be able to consume cannabis in comfort – free from stigma, and far removed from the police’s purview. This is one patient’s account of how positive their experience of taking medical cannabis continues to be and asks “why can’t everywhere be like this?”.
