Now, is it me or are things getting a little weird out there in the mad bad world of politics?
It would seem that while some nations are going all in on total cannabis legalisation (nice work Czechia!), while others seem content to either remain stagnant (Britain…!) or reverse the good work already made (looking at you, Thailand).?
I’d wager that attitudes towards cannabis legalisation are a good barometer for any nation’s current political leanings.?

So now Old Joe’s out of the running it’s looking likely that the current VPOTUS will be the next Democrat Presidential candidate. But where does Kamala Harris stand on cannabis? This piece from Cultivated gives us some pointers.
While actual new patient numbers seem to be in constant flux (reports mostly estimate approx. 40,000), prescription numbers have more than doubled, according to data from the Care Quality Commission (CQC). The report shows that 177,566 items were prescribed between 1 July 2022 the 30 June 2023, compared with 81,476 the year before. Progress indeed.

Cannabis x stigma have been intertwined since Anslinger got a bug up his ass about drugs, newspapers, and the BIPOC community. Even now, public service announcements continue to champion harm reduction when, broadly speaking, there isn’t much ‘harm’ to ‘reduce’.
