The LO Down - September 20th - High Five Friday, Podcast of the Week, SOLO Tip brought to you by Guest Contributor Jeremy Dean, and a Dad Joke

The 50 BPs cut happened this week and it felt like the first time in a long time that relief was in sight. In my own conversations with LO's, there is more optimism, more energy, and more hope for what the future holds. Exciting times ahead for sure.

High Five Friday/BAM!

These are my 5 favorite posts from mortgage folks from this week.

First up, Scott Mendez pops up on my feed out of nowhere this week with some great posts. I love when a new content creator starts to put out quality stuff. Give him a follow for some short and sweet content that is both educational and relatable for the borrower.

Second, David Wickert is another new connection that I started seeing content of this week. Loved this post about us being "stewards of our homes" and the story of his childhood home being sold to another family with young kids ready to create memories in the house he grew up in. Powerful stuff.

Third, Shane Kidwell does an excellent job of laying out some marketing strategy suggestions around the Fed rate cut for Loan Officers. This is clearly big news, and how you share it with your clients can have a major impact on your business. If nothing else, read this post and see if it gives you some ideas.

Fourth, follow along with Carese Busby as she takes us through the journey of being an investment property owner and the joys of being a landlord. I have personally enjoyed these behind the scenes looks as she tours homes that she rents out. Yikes.

And finally, Mike Faraci makes one of the most valuable call outs, and my prediction is that not many will respond with action. I'm sharing it anyway, because I believe in the value of what he is saying. Vocal leadership that is willing to take a stand can make a big impact on recruiting. I recommend giving this a watch.

SOLO Tip of the week, brought to you by Guest Contributor Jeremy Dean :

I hear LOs all the time say “I can’t have any influence over the title company. I work with buyer’s agents and we all know the listing agent gets to pick title usually”.

This could not be more false!

As a 23-year mortgage veteran who now owns a title company (and still originates), I can tell you that your influence as a LO to your agents is much greater than you realize.

We close deals all the time that come from the buyer’s side. Your relationship to the title company is there to help your agents win more business.

Ask your buyer’s agents who they like for title, and then all 3 of you grab lunch and make sure you know each other well. And offer them introductions to the title companies you like also.

You’d be amazed once this triangle all comes together nicely at how much more business might be there for all of you.

And finally, a "cheesy" Dad Joke in honor of National Queso Day (September 20th):

What did the queso say to the tortilla chip?

"I'm nacho average cheese!"

Have a great weekend!

Thank you Connor ?? I try to always take a slice of humble pie out of the fridge in the morning to remind myself that people don’t want my mortgage, they want the house.
