The LO Down - May 27th - #HighFiveFriday, Podcast of the Week, SOLO Tip, Dad Jokes- Mitch Hedberg Edition

I hope everyone had a great week this week. Personally, it feels like the past 3 weeks have been different. There is more momentum in the air, I can hear more confidence in the LO's that I speak to and recruiting activity has picked up too. Here's to more weeks like these in the future.

#HighFiveFriday #BAM

These are my five favorite posts from mortgage folks this week.

First up, Joshua Pinnel with a fantastic one liner that set me in a better direction. Mindset comments like these push me forward. I appreciate the sentiment and the inspiration.

Second, my good friend Jim Weir shares a great post about "stuff" versus "people." We are in the people business, and regardless of how much "stuff" you have, it doesn't work quite as well if you don't have good people behind it. Loved the reminder.

Third, Ian Klein popped up on my feed this week and shares a great tip on where to engage and potentially find new leads. Check out the post to find out more.

Fourth, Jon Overfelt opens up about a vulnerable moment and shares a loss in a sea of others only sharing wins. I genuinely appreciate content like this because the honest truth is, we don't always win, sometimes we take a hit and we have to choose to learn from it. Jon does a great job here of sharing what he learned, and there are some great comments too.

And finally, Kyle Draper?? shares a picture of his "brain dump" notes that helped he arrive at a new talk subject that he calls "The Gift." Check out the post to learn more about what the "gift" is and how it can impact your day today.

Podcast of the Week:

Mortgage Marketing Radio: How to Level Up Your Value to Real Estate Agents

Link to Episode: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/how-to-level-up-your-value-to-real-estate-agents/id1077458313?i=1000655173571

In this episode, host Geoff Zimpfer and guest Matt Weaver talk about strategies to build a business by design, to show value to real estate agents and to help agents show value to buyers in the future.

SOLO Tip of the Week:

Get comfortable with boring.

The process of growth is exciting. You try new things, you take risks, you are experimenting and that can be a lot of fun.

But once you've found IT, you need to get comfortable with settling into those processes, slowing the experimentation and follow the process.

The excitement of figuring things out is alluring, but can have an opposite effect on you just continue chasing "something better."

Take a look at what is working and stick with it for a while.

Get comfortable with boring.

Dad Jokes- Mitch Hedberg Edition:

These are some of my favorite one-liners from the late comedian Mitch Hedberg:

"My fake plants died because I didn't pretend to water them."

"Any book is a children's book if the kid can read."

"I'm sick of following my dreams man. I'm just going to ask them where they're going and hook up with 'em later."

"Is a hippopotamus a hippopotamus, or just a really cool optamus"

"A waffle is like a pancake with a syrup trap."
