First off, don't forget Mother's Day this weekend. Thank you to the Mom's out there for everything you do.
Man oh man, what a week. I don;t know about you all, but the recruiting activity is hopping and it has been a ton of fun. I shared earlier this week that it is important to settle into your natural self when prospecting and connecting with others. I went through a slump recently. When I realized that I was being robotic and trying to project as someone I'm not instead of being my more natural laid back self, then things started to change for me and momentum shifted. Challenging times can do that to you, make you think you have to be a different version of yourself. Don't believe it. Be you, you are good enough.

These are my 5 favorite posts from mortgage folks this week.
First up, Larry Eisenstat shares an insightful article about Recruiters in the mortgage business and the advantages one can gain by simply taking a few minutes to have a conversation with them. Great article Larry, I encourage you all to read it.
Second, while we're on the subject of recruiting, Andrew Whatley shares a post about two questions that LO's may want to ask the next time they feel the urge to look at another opportunity. Personally, I agree that these two questions are vital, especially in this market, but also at any time really. The more opportunities you get, the better. Looks like it might be getting "algo'd" as there isn't much engagement, but it's worth the read. Check it out.
Third, I loved this post from Steve Gray about the importance of posting your own organic content and not relying on the flyers from the Marketing Department. While I do think posting those flyers can be good as an "every so often" post, I don't think they should be the only content you post. Let people in, share a little about yourself, and don't be afraid to have fun.
Fourth, Brian Chick makes a plea that we take time to "fix our roof while the sun is shining." I thought this was a great analogy and some good wisdom for the industry when we see better days in the future.
And finally, Kira Truett makes a great video explanation about challenges that business owners face in trying to buy a home and a loan option that could make it easier for them to qualify. Easy to understand from a client perspective and great evergreen material.

Full transparency, I did not listen to any new podcasts this week. But here is one I listened to during the 100 Podcasts in 100 Days Journey that I thought was especially good,

SOLO Tip of the Week:
Seek advice.
If you just keep trying something and it's not working, if you feel stuck and don't know what to do next, if you're in a rut.
Seek advice.
There is no shame in admitting you are struggling.
Sometimes a new perspective will do the trick.
Dad Joke of the Week:
I caught this on my Instagram Feed this morning, gave me a chuckle:
"If you boil a funny bone, it becomes a laughing stock...Now that Humerus"
