Well there it goes, February is over and the scoreboard is back to zero. If you've been following the discussion this week, there has been some talk about compensation in the industry (both LO and Ops staff comp), a collaborative new book just dropped, and there are meetings and top producer trips happening throughout the industry.
#HighFiveFriday #BAM
First up, I can't celebrate this one enough, and no bias here, but Alec Hanson and the Marketing Team at loanDepot released the single best hype video I have ever seen in the industry. Check it out for yourself, it's worth the watch. The Compliance Guy gets me every time.
Next up, Paul Hindman writes a post asking those that have been laid off and fortunate to find jobs outside of the industry to share their stories. The gold is in the comments. If you are out of work and looking for an alternative route, check out this post for some ideas and inspiration.
Third, Jeremy Dean shares a great example of how we can trap ourselves by overthinking things by using "The Itsy Bitsy Spider" of all things. If you're guilty of paralysis by analysis at times, check this post out. It's a great mindset reset.
George Milian talks about the vulnerabilities needed to be a strong leader and that failing is a part of it. He says to show your scars, to admit your mistakes and learn from them. I couldn't agree more.
And finally, Andrew (Andy) W. Harris doesn't hold back and shares some thoughts on expenses in the industry and how they are affecting the industry. Some good conversation in the comments too.

SOLO Tip of the Week:
Get organized and learn how to say no to "time vampires."
I spoke with one of our LO's here at loanDepot that ended up having their best month of production in their career in February.
When I asked what changed, their response was simple:
Habits
They stopped chasing deals that would take 3 hours to work on only to not qualify, they made sure they had a plan for each day of the week, they worked the plan and didn't allow themselves to get distracted.
A simple change of habits has led to a more efficient process and a more productive Loan Officer.
Dad Joke of the Week:
Can a kangaroo jump higher than a house? Of course, houses can't jump.
Have a great weekend!

8 个月Wow when we first started in June we had an idea of not having the “best podcast” but a unique one and our goal was to be consistent. We wanted to challenge ourselves every week to keep doing it. Michael Zau and I have been in 12 different cities, i have been on vacation with my sound board, and even in the nooks of conference halls. We have become the space for the industry to learn what the leaders and conference goers are hearing, experiencing and the headwinds ahead. We cannot have a huge disconnect for this industry to move forward. I need to post myself in how much consistency works and it doesn’t happen over night. You can’t beat consistency. Look at this list. Look who is popping on LinkedIn. Some are talented at telling stories, some work for a great company, some are funny, some have a horse shoe it seems at times, but what is separating them from everyone else is consistency. David Lykken the ultimate. The LO Down is now one of those we can count on to catch up! Thank you from the bottom of my heart for choosing us and it is now our goal to make podcast of the week as much as we can!
