The LO Down - Let's Celebrate Mortgage Together!

You’re not just funding loans.

You’re funding someone’s dream.

You’re funding economic stability for a community.

You’re funding a place to call home.

Feels like a reason to celebrate, right?

Let’s talk about a few ways to "Celebrate Mortgage" with clients and referral partners.

1.??????The Obvious

-?????????Updates

o??Unless you are working with an investor, it’s pretty safe to assume that your Client has no idea what to expect.?Automated video updates from the CRM are nice, but why not take it one step further and record a few stock videos of your own??Having a familiar face update them along the way and explain can be helpful and comforting. ?Not to mention, they can share the update with anyone else involved in the purchase without losing anything in translation. ??Additionally, they can also share with friends and family as a way to say “Check out what my Loan Officer sent me, isn’t that great?” Throw in some confetti cannons if you really want to make an impression!

-?????????Gifts

o??Believe it or not, not everyone gets a closing gift. I know my Loan Officer didn’t give us one when we bought our house (I’m not bitter ??).?So a Closing Gift is a great start, something personal that you learned about them during the process.?Stay away from company branded swag and alcohol (unless you know them well).?There are also services that allow the client to choose a gift from a variety of choices, the Loan Officer simply sets the dollar amount.

o??Outside of a Closing Gift, you can send a “Clear to Close” Gift to build excitement around the big day.?An order of cookies to their office is a good way to get some conversation started about you among their colleagues.

2.??????Rolling Out the Red Carpet

-?????????Literally

o??I found this clip on LinkedIn of a loanDepot team in Hawaii that literally rolls out the “Purple Carpet” for their clients when they close:

§?Red Carpet Closing

o??Imagine being a part of a celebration like this when you purchased your home.?Not to mention, it provides great marketing material for the LO and Agent. From the Red Carpet Interview to discuss the process and talk about the experiences with everyone involved, to the paparazzi like photo shoot, ringing the bell and the clap out at the end.?Looks like a great and memorable time.

3.??????The After Party

-?????????After closing, there are a few ways to keep the celebration going:

o??Party Time, Excellent

§?Host a House Warming Party or Block Party and invite the new neighbors, friends and family. Meet your next clients face to face.

§?Host Quarterly Events that you invite the database to:

·??????Pictures with Santa at the office, avoid the lines at the mall

·??????Photo Shoots aren’t just for Realtors, how about a headshot day for your database to update their LinkedIn Profiles?

·??????Host a Movie Premiere and invite past Clients

o??Database Updates

§?Create a “Fan Club” of sorts by providing value added updates

·??????HomeBot

·??????Market Updates

·??????Investment Opportunities in growing areas

The reality is, a mortgage can be a painful, complicated, “can’t wait until it’s over” experience, or it can be celebrated for the joyous moment that it truly is and lead to more referrals.?You have the choice.

If you are doing anything to add to the experience for your Clients and/or Referral Partners and would like to share, please add in the comments.
