The LO Down - July 19th - #HighFiveFriday, Podcast of the Week, SOLO Tip, and a few Dad Jokes

I don't know about you, but this week has felt like a whirlwind. I was fortunate this week to have several face to face meeting with LO's, to hear from them what is going on in their world, to understand their challenges and celebrate successes. It has been great getting in front of folks. If you have the option in the future, I highly recommend that you do the same. So much more connection to be made the old fashioned way.

#HighFiveFriday #BAM

These are my 5 favorite posts from mortgage folks this week.

Up first, Suzanne Neblett shared a post that really struck a chord with me. It's funny how some of the most random things can ghold meaning, and this post, along with the picture, really puts things into perspective. I appreciate your ability to see that in things Suzanne, really cool post this week.

Second, John Russo writes up a helpful article for LO's that want to build their business on a budget. There are some really helpful tips in there and some strategies that are easy to implement for any LO looking for ways to get established in the biz.

Third, Jay Hughes must have been in my brain at the time of posting this post earlier this week because it was a topic that I was literally thinking of at the time that I read it. Sometimes activity for the sake of being active is just a giant waste of time and effort. Having intention and focusing on quality actions is where the money is at. Great call out here Jay.

Fourth, Geoff Zimpfer (a personal favorite podcast host of mine, check out Mortgage Marketing Radio if you haven't already) posts a great snippet of how to drive agents to your next event. What's in a name? In this case, it could be the difference of hosting a successful event or hosting a dud.

And finally, Jonathan D. Wilson makes a great call out to those in the business that are still taking the time and making the effort to attend their closings. I know there are two sides of the aisle on this, so it may not be for everyone, but take a moment to read this post. It might just change your mind about what you do for your next closing.

Podcast of the Week:

Mortgage & Mindset with Tiffany Rose - There's NO Magic Pill in Sales, it's the SKILL. The key to making millions!

In this episode, Tiffany talks about the mistake that many will make when they go and hire someone to handle a part of their business without first taking the time to try and learn that skill yourself first. She also talks about the misstep that happens when you blindly trust that spending money on something will guarantee a result and the need to stay involved.

SOLO Tip of the Week:

Could someone walk into your office tomorrow and, by the end of the day, know how to work a file in your world?

If not, it's time to build a repeatable and scalable process.

I met with a great producer this week that made this comment and it stuck with me. They have a very specific process in their office and they follow it on every loan.

This has helped them create a back office experience that is predictable, easy to identify where a problem occurs, to address the problem, and fix it.

Once you have the process, then you upgrade the systems.

Dad Jokes about Money:

If money doesn't grow on trees, why do banks have branches?

Where does 007 invest his money? In the Bond market.

Getting air for your tires has doubled at the gas station. Talk about Inflation!

Hope you have a great weekend!
