Another week in the books and it's still wild to think this is the second half of the year already. I'm no economist, but I have seen and heard that there were some encouraging signs of things this week and so we'll just have to keep hanging on for more data in the future. If you're still in the game, you're doing something right.
#HighFiveFriday #BAM
These are my 5 favorite posts from mortgage folks this week.
First up, John Birke shares a great video with tips for agents on what to do to prepare for and execute an excellent Open House. This is thorough without being long and provides some real value to agent partners.
Second, Diego Sanchez brings up some great points about the NAR Settlement and the potential "portal war" dynamics that could be effected. It won't be long until we are in uncharted waters and there is still so much to consider.
Third, Scott Reise shares some life lessons that he has learned on the Jiu Jitsu mat. Sports are an excellent teacher and analogy for life. Someone once told me that one of the reasons sports are so great is because it is one of the only times that we are truly in the present moment. When the play is on, you can't think about the past, you can't think about what might happen, you have to make the play that needs to be made in that moment. They are a gift that teach us. Great list Scott.
Fourth, Angela Carter, MBA shares a short post that pretty much sums up what it's all about. Your name and reputation are the most important tools that you have and when you have earned your way to a good name and reputation, good things happen. Great reminder here.
And finally, Rich Swerbinsky gives some great insights into the recent algorithm changes with LinkedIn. For those of you that want to know how to get your content out to a larger audience, this list can be helpful in guiding you on how you create your next post. My advice, don't lose your authenticity while trying to please the algorithm. Good content comes from the heart. These tips will help you take it further.

SOLO Tip of the Week:
Choose your hard.
I'm not sure who came up with this concept, but I can't take credit for it. The basic concept is this:
You always have two choices: easy or hard.
If you choose easy, typically there will be something difficult that happens as a result of that choice in the future.
If you choose hard, typically there will be something easy that happens as a result in the future.
Example: Prospecting
If you choose to not prospect or only call the prospects you're comfortable calling, then your business is less likely to grow. You stayed comfortable, but the results are that you might struggle in the future.
If you choose to prospect hard and set challenging goals and not compromise on them, then the future will be much easier. More meetings, more relationships, more leads.
Choose your hard.
Dad Jokes:
I love the way the Earth rotates.
It really makes my day.
I heard you should always look into a mirror before making a big decision.
It helps you reflect.
Why was 69 afraid of 70?
Because 71.
