LMG: Empowering Apprentices to Thrive and Drive Growth in a Dynamic Business Environment

At LMG (lmgiq.com) , Learning and Development are among our top priorities, alongside supporting our people to reach their highest potential. As technology continues to evolve and our company grows yearly, we remain committed to supporting our staff to meet market demands and their #personalgrowth ambitions.

Apprenticeships are invaluable for meeting the UK’s skills needed in digital engineering and technology. We are currently experiencing a significant skills shortage, with people leaving the industry and having limited numbers entering the market.

This year, we are proud to have employed five apprentices across various roles, ranging from Network Cable Installer to HR Support Apprentice and Sales Executive Apprentice.

By investing in apprenticeships, we champion early talent and provide a career entry route supported by on-the-job experience and the latest industry skills and knowledge.

Recognising the evolving online education landscape, we prioritise flexibility for our apprentices to gain practical experience through on-the-job training and industry-recognised certifications. This includes opportunities to attend new site visits and enrolment in regular site rotations.

By engaging in hands-on learning, our apprentices can bridge the gap between theory and practice, preparing them for real-world challenges.

We have found that one of the reasons for the decline in engineering apprentices is the lack of publicity and awareness – many potential apprentices are not exposed to the industry and therefore have difficulty accessing opportunities.

This, accompanied by the skills shortage, has meant that apprenticeship schemes are more important than ever. Our mission is to engage with early talent at various stages of their career search to raise awareness of our industry and the ever-growing opportunities within.

We are delighted that our #apprentices have achieved remarkable success, with four previous apprentices now transitioning into permanent positions within the Company.

Among them are two Business Administrators, one Account Assistant, and an Information Communication Technician; their dedication and commitment have driven LMG’s growth and success.

At LMG, investing in apprenticeships benefits individuals and contributes to overall #growth and development. We will continue to support and nurture a broad range of talent, empowering them to thrive in the #SmartBuilding environment.?
