We would like to wish our colleagues in schools and other organisations a very Happy New Year. We have lots of exciting projects and opportunities happening in 2025 for schools to get involved with! Our first briefing of 2025 includes information on how schools can take part in a range of livestreamed interactive sessions for Children’s Mental Health Week and the Liverpool Children’s Festival of Reading.

Children’s Mental Health Week 2025
Liverpool Schools’ Mental Health Teams, in collaboration with fantastic local partners, are proud to present an exciting lineup of interactive livestream events to mark Children’s Mental Health Week.
This year's theme is Know Yourself, Grow Yourself. These engaging sessions are tailored to different key stages and are designed to spark conversations and promote wellbeing in fun, accessible ways.
Monday 3rd February, 10:00-10:30 – Daily Xpress Livestream session (KS1) delivered by LLP & Schools’ MH Teams
Tuesday 4th February, 09:15-09:30 – Daily Xpress Livestream session (EYFS) delivered by LLP
Wednesday 5th February 13:00-13:30 – Daily Xpress Livestream session (KS2 & Year 7) delivered by LLP
Thursday 6th February 09:30-10:00 – Daily Xpress Livestream session (KS1&KS2) delivered by LFC Foundation
Thursday 6th February 13:30-14:00 – Daily Xpress Livestream session (KS3) delivered by LFC Foundation
Friday 7th February, 09:30-10:00 – Daily Xpress Livestream session (Year 6 & KS3) delivered by Edgehill University Students

Liverpool Children’s Festival of Reading 2025
LLP member schools are invited to take part in the Liverpool Children’s Festival of Reading, an exciting series of digital events celebrating empathy, understanding, and the transformative power of stories taking place from 10th-14th February. Featuring celebrated and award-winning authors, illustrators, poets, and performers, these sessions are perfect for children from EYFS to KS3+.
Highlights Include: Kathryn White / Nadine Kaadan / Coral Rumble / Kurly / Gill Smith / Rob Bradley / Levi Tafari / Nursery Rhyme Time
Sign Up Fast: We have funding to provide some schools with books. Availability to these will be available on a first come first served basis.
Schools will also have access to a comprehensive range of printable and digital resources to support the sessions.

YPAS: Chat ‘n’ Chill for Parents/Carers
YPAS’ next Chat 'n' Chill session will be on Wednesday, the 29th of January 10-12pm at YPAS Central. 36, Bolton St. L3 5LX.
The theme for the session is Trying new things and we will be discussing how trying/learning new things can improve parental mental health.
In February YPAS are celebrating Children's Mental Health week and this year's theme will be Know yourself, grow yourself.
They are asking parents to think about their child's strengths and/or interests, and how they support their child/encourage their child to use or practice these, the impact on their child's wellbeing/ how this helps their child to achieve their goals.
Any parent interested in participating can share any ideas with Laura Blanco by email, ([email protected]), before the 24th of January.
