LLMWare launches new open source LLMs built for business workflows and RAG
Summary
- Ai Bloks has launched a development framework, llmware, for building enterprise-grade LLM-based workflow applications.
- Ai Bloks has released the DRAGON series of 7B parameter LLMs, designed for business workflows and fine-tuned for fact-based question-answering for complex business and legal documents.
- To meet the needs of scalable RAG systems, LLMWare is launching seven DRAGON models available in open source, all of which have been extensively fine-tuned for RAG.
- The DRAGON models join two other LLMWare RAG model collections: BLING and Industry-BERT, providing a suite of open-source RAG-specialized models for a comprehensive end-to-end solution for RAG.
- According to Ai Bloks CEO Darren Oberst, the vision for LLMWare is to bring together the specialized models, the data pipeline, and all of the enabling components in a unified framework in open source to enable enterprises to rapidly customize and deploy LLM-based automation at scale.

"One of the major inhibitors to unlocking many enterprise use cases with LLMs is the ability to transform LLM outputs into decision points that can be handled programmatically. Chat models have been optimized for fluency and conversation – which tend to be lengthy and hard to handle in a programmatic ‘if…then’ step. What we hear consistently from our enterprise customers is the need for classification functions and programmatic evaluation of text to reduce to a singular set of values and multi-step processes. This allows for a series of LLM outputs that can be used to arrive at decision points in the process. We believe that SLIMs are the missing piece in this equation.”
