LLAMA3 - The Nanny AI

I wrote an automation that pulls all the new video from my (very many) Youtube channel subscriptions, summarizes them using LLAMA3 running on my own machine, and sends to me as an email digest. It’s a great way to efficiently keep up with hundreds of hours of new content every week.

I follow Colion Noir, a second amendment advocate and gun nerd living in Texas (where else!). He recently interviewed a woman who prevented a home invasion because she had a firearm.

So I fed the transcript into LLAMA3 along with this prompt:?

Generally this prompt gets me past the “I need to tell you I don’t agree with this…” kind of verbiage that can sometimes come back, however this time LLAMA3 had a panic attack.

I fed the same transcript into my favorite video summarizer inside ChatGPT and got this:

I am all for responsible AI and putting common sense governance in place, however as a society we are wrestling with how to define “common sense”. My concern is if we go too far we will overly restrict AI from many useful ways they can help us because we turned them into Nanny AIs.
