LLA Newsletter – Spring 2022 Edition

Welcome to the first LLA newsletter of 2022.

After the events of the past couple of years, we know how hard Humanitarians have been working to provide relief and logistical support to those in need. Whether that is by assisting with vaccination efforts, or on the frontline in warzones and areas hit by natural and manmade disasters, the Humanitarian community continues to be at the forefront.

Sadly, as we began 2022, we did so with yet another conflict. The invasion of Ukraine has been both shocking and upsetting to witness from afar, but nothing compared to the very real consequences of those who live in the country, many of whom have had to flee and seek refuge elsewhere. We offer our full support to the Ukrainian people, as well as to those who are still in Ukraine and those who are helping others in the country.

If you want to read more about how the Humanitarian community is assisting the people of Ukraine, we encourage people to read reliable sources of information and avoid the spread of misinformation.?This article from ICRC?about international humanitarian law is a helpful piece that explains more about the legal and moral obligations.?And this article from the BBC?explains why Red Cross organisations are required to remain impartial during conflict in order to most effectively provide assistance to those most in need.

We also know that Ukraine is not the only country to be affected by war and we send our sincere thoughts to those who are affected all over the world, including in Yemen and Afghanistan.

We are always so happy and honoured to receive feedback from our students and graduates, especially as they come to the end of their successful journey with us. And particularly so during the past few months, which we know have been especially difficult for our students as they worked for NGOs in response to both the pandemic and other natural and manmade disasters.

Here’s just a few of our favourite testimonials from 2021.
