Liz Mulroy Named Senior Director of Chapter Operations

Liz Mulroy has officially been named the new Senior Director of Chapter Operations. Liz joined the Foundation in 2021 as the Executive Director for the Lower Great Lakes Chapter (formerly the Ohio Chapter).?

“Selecting Liz for this role was a great choice for the future growth of our Chapters,” said Ashley Pruett, Vice President of Community Engagement. “Seeing the success she’s had over the past two years in the Lower Great Lakes Chapter and getting to see firsthand how much her volunteers respect and trust her, it was very clear that she would excel in this position. Liz is such a supportive force when it comes to this community, and she always keeps the Foundation’s mission first.”?

In her new role, Liz will be responsible for partnering with staff and leadership across the organization to develop and maintain coordinated program and service delivery, system integration, ensuring operational excellence and leading cross-functional teams on behalf of the Foundation. ?

When asked for her reaction to this exciting career shift, this is what Liz had to say:?

“First of all, I have to spotlight the most amazing group of volunteers who, over the past couple of years, have taught me about this work, the Foundation, and this amazing community we have the pleasure of knowing and serving. They have welcomed me with open arms and grace, and have been wonderfully receptive to all our ideas, trying everything we’ve thrown at them – which undoubtedly is the reason the Lower Great Lakes Chapter won the award for the 2023 Chapter of the year. Volunteer leaders like Lucille Miller, Mariann Boyanowski and Leni Schulz not only make this job possible but they make it extremely rewarding, and for that I am eternally grateful.”?

“I am also incredibly humbled to take on this new role and receive this recognition of my skills, service and dedication to this Foundation,” said Liz. “I look forward to continuing the tremendous collaboration between the national staff and all of the chapters to make sure we continue to serve and support our community members living with scleroderma nationwide.”? ?

Her colleagues got in on the celebration as well, offering wishes of congratulations and future success:?

“When I learned of the senior director role opening, my thoughts turned immediately to Liz,” said Anne Sweeney, Executive Director of the National Scleroderma Foundation’s New England Chapter. “She's a hard-working team player who possesses all the qualities of a good leader: effective communicator, great people skills, high emotional intelligence, open-minded, humble, ‘can-do’ attitude, and has a great sense of humor!”??

“It is my privilege to congratulate Liz on her new role,” said Amanda Graham, Executive Director of the National Scleroderma Foundation’s Rocky Mountain Chapter. “Liz is an amazing, dedicated leader with the background and knowledge to advance the chapters’ mission and vision nationwide.? She is a highly collaborative individual, and I look forward to working and growing as an executive director through her leadership efforts.”?
