Living and Working in the No-Drama Zone
As a speaker, I have to be in the service of my audience. It’s not about telling my story or talking “at” my audience, it’s about connecting with people.?
Trials and pitfalls are the driving forces behind success. The feelings of failure are experiences most of the audience have likely felt firsthand. Challenges are inevitable, and there’s growth when you learn how to face the challenges and move through them with integrity.?
I’ve found ways to overcome obstacles through many lessons learned and my goal is to share those experiences in a way that inspires others to face their obstacles with courage and determination too.
Being a good leader starts with you. Are you creating a no-fuss way to work with you or are you the type of person who shows up to an event and requests “green M&Ms only please”??
In my experience with speaking events, I’ve found that simple is better. The goal is for me to get up on stage and make sure people feel changed by what they have heard and inspire them to lead with the greatness that already exists within them. Everything else is just fluff.?
Keep it Simple??
Being an event planner takes a lot of hard work. Running a successful speaking event requires a lot of coordinating and accommodating. When speakers keep it simple for them and show appreciation, it can go a long way.?

Here’s my approach to making sure there is no-drama in any of my environments:
Planning out my needs and requests in advance, putting them in writing, and sending them to the event coordinators well ahead of time seems to work for everyone involved. If there are any hiccups along the way, communication and empathy help me to navigate the challenges without causing any unnecessary fuss or chaos.?
Avoiding drama is the key to the success of the event.??
I show up for the audience from the moment I enter the building to the time I exit.? My mantra is “I am there for the audience and not for myself.”
If you’re ready to put a date on hold for your next event, let’s talk!?
