Living in the present: How to let go of regrets and focus on the now

The past is long gone, the present is in our hands, and the future is yet to arrive!

When I resigned from my job, I thought it was the most positive thing I could do for myself. Being overly ambitious, little did I know that my venture plans didn’t work out as expected, and I ran out of funds!

Slipping into depression, questioning all my decisions, and dealing with anxiety was not easy. Getting the much-needed online psychological counseling helped me deal with the present.?

As humans, we make millions of decisions every day, and a lot of times these decisions turn into regrets. Whether it is joining a job, leaving a job, getting a divorce, leaving your hometown, and so much more,

Regrets can be huge emotional baggage, and it’s best to seek online counselling sessions to deal with the depression associated with them.?

Having lived through multiple regrets, it was never easy to accept the decisions I have made. One of the first lessons I learned through online psychological consultation in India was to practise "acceptance."

We can never move on from regrets if we don’t accept what has happened to us or the decision we have made.?

?

There is no quick fix to make you feel better about your mistakes, but by facing them head-on and forgiving yourself, you can start to move on. With acceptance comes forgiveness.

If you feel too weighed down by your regrets, it can lead to depression, anxiety, and even severe panic attacks.?

Another extremely helpful therapy tool I learned through free mental health counseling in India is writing down your regrets. To put it bluntly, writing about your regrets can help you deal with them.

Although I’ve had multiple regrets, recognizing the point when they become triggering and seeking online counseling sessions can be very helpful.?

Conclusion??

If your regrets feel insurmountable, if they are triggering depressive or anxious thoughts, or if you are starting to feel overwhelmed, it may be time to seek the help of a mental health professional, like psychological help online.?

The process of working with a therapist can be very beneficial in sorting through feelings.

If you're in therapy or just want to talk to someone who understands, there are plenty of online communities where you can find that. You can resort to free psychological counselling to feel better!?
