A Living Museum: Bey House Royal Hotel
Bey House Royal Hotel
Luxury boutique hotel, restaurant and hammam inside of a renovated XIX-century historic landmark.
Many who have not been to Bey House ask why the decor is so unique and impressive. Because the hotel only has four royal "chambers," each named after Bulgarian Tsarinas, the idea is when you enter your room, you will be transformed in time as if you are staying in the Tsarina's royal chamber. Each chamber is filled with pictures from the Tsarinas' life, and the furniture is all antiques from their time - the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
When you go through the rest of the hotel, you'll see many different decorations scattered about, each with its own meaning. The decor changes all the time, too. If you go to Bey House during one month and come back later in the year, you will see new things. As if in an art gallery, a painting may be hanging now, but there will be another next year. Hanging on the walls are also archived photographs of Veliko Tarnovo as it looked in the 1800s and early 1900s. We regularly feature these details on our pages, so keep looking.
For guests who return to Bey House again and again, they will find their favourite things and their favoruite rooms, but you will also notice the changes. Bey House is genuinely a museum-like historic property, alive with history.
