Lack of Free Money Makes Investing Difficult

After a decade of 0% interest rates investors are anxious for the Federal Reserve to turn the money printing machines back on and slash interest rates to nothing while simultaneously combating inflation.

Despite the knock-on effects of ten years of paying banks to invest via the controversial ‘quantitative easing’ scheme that printed money out of thin air to bail out Wall Street for causing the Great Recession, institutional investors continue to puzzle-out ways to have their cake and eat it too. For the time being, it doesn’t look like governments will be giving multi-trillion dollar financial vehicles any more welfare-style handouts.???

DEI - A National Survey

Pew Research’s nationwide survey of Diversity Equity and Inclusion found that most Americans think more diversity in the workplace “is a good thing” with only a small percentage saying that the matter is either “a bad thing” or “extremely important.” This moderate view on diversity initiatives may mean that the controversial business topic is gaining widespread acceptance amongst working-age Americans and that dollars spent on diversity aren’t going to waste.?

Longer lives: more time to get fat? New research has revealed that the human lifespan is set to increase by up to 5 years, globally, from 73.6 years in 2022 to 78.1 years, a 4.5-year increase. Faced with an aging population, developed countries in Europe, the United States, Japan, and China are already coming to grips with lopsided demographics where the old outnumber the young and where markets are facing disruption as retirees hurry to cash out and leave the workforce before facing the nightmare prospect of a 401K packed with overvalued assets sold at a loss.

And even worse than being old and poor, new research from the UK now says we must worry about being old, poor, and obese. Roughly simplified, the new argument states that the longer you are alive, the more time you have to gain weight. Luckily, Novo Nordisk offers a one-stop shop for both of these problems. Their stock has been performing exceptionally strong in the past year due to their obesity treatment Ozempic, and the Danish company’s vow to create a ‘vaccine’ for obesity means the stock is more than a good buy for people who want to keep the weight off for good in their golden years.?
