living life as magic ??

living life as magic ??

happy Saturday, magical humans ?

Lately, I feel like I've been living in a time warp. There are days where I feel frozen in time, that sensation where I can't quite recall what my life was before this very moment. Then, there are moments where I feel like I'm moving at warped speed.

My mind has been flooded with insights, but catching them and turning them into coherent text to share with you feels like trying to grasp a fleeting thought.

When I do manage to catch a hold of one, it's almost as though it loses its magic...

As frustrating as this experience has been for me (someone who loves distilling my thoughts and sharing it with the world), it's given me an important gift.

(kind of like this ??)

Even when I manage to capture one, it seems to lose its magic...

As frustrating as this experience has been for me, someone who loves distilling thoughts and sharing them with the world, it's given me an essential gift.

impermanence

Lately, I've come face-to-face with the false paradigm many of us are conditioned to function from: security.

While having a sense of security is beneficial, what I've learned is that we've been conditioned to seek it in things that are inherently impermanent—jobs, business, achievements, physical health, relationships

Our obsession with creating permanency is no different than me trying to hold tight to the flow of my insights. It ruins the magical nature inherent in the impermanence of life.

transitions

Two weeks ago, I finally acted on a decision that had been on my heart since July 2021: I let go of my apartment, my home for the last 5 years. It took me three years to make this decision because my drive for security prevented me from letting go of something I knew didn't serve me.

I didn't know what the next steps would be if I terminated my lease. I didn't want to be "geographically unstable," so I held on, thinking the answers would come in time. But that moment never arrived. The longer I waited, the more discomfort I felt. It's like insisting on wearing your favorite shoe as a child that you've outgrown.

The weeks leading up to my move were filled with a mix of emotions. Deep loss, gratitude for the moments, memories, and milestones created in my home, and regret for not appreciating it as much as I could have.

Since moving, I've been sitting with a deep resonance of living life in transition. For better or worse, this too shall pass.

Despite the chaos in the world, with technology giving us a front-row seat to it all, I find magic in life. The fact that we're all alive at this moment is magic. We make things up—words, laws, currency, morals, the stories we tell ourselves. Science gives us a sense of knowing what we're doing, but do we really?

So, what if we started living life as magic? What if we embraced its transitionary nature? What if we awakened to its fullness? What if we stopped stifling our dreams and potential by letting go of our false sense of security?

magic

I know there's a lot of wild things happening in the world. Arguably, it's always been this way but our current technology has allowed us to get a front row seat to watching the action. There are days where I feel like I'm driving with one foot on the gas and the other on the brake. Oscillating between hope and despair.

Yet... I'm enthralled with how magical life can be. The fact that we are all alive at this very moment in time is magic. We literally make stuff up - from words, to laws, to currency, to morals, to the stories we tell ourselves. Sure, science gives us a sense that we actually know what we are doing.. but honestly, do we really know what we are doing?? There is so much more to life than what meets our senses. There is so much that we don't and may never know.

So what if we started living life as magic? What if we embraced its transitionary nature? What if we awakened to its fullness? What if we stopped stiffing our dreams and potential by letting go of our false sense of security?

breathe

Let's take a breath together.

On the count of five:

? Deep inhale - 1... 2... 3... 4... 5.

? Pause.

? Exhale for 1... 2... 3... 4... 5.

You're in a new moment now. What will you choose?

From my transition, to yours...
