Lesson 8 of the FemFuel Fempreneurial Journey
Throughout my career, I've been privileged to encounter awe-inspiring stories of women who not only went big but also embodied a distinct entrepreneurial spirit.
These stories are not just tales of success; they are blueprints of resilience, adaptability, and unwavering determination. This is the 8th lesson, Can You Have It All?
I've got quite a bit of published material under my belt, including my own book, scattered across various platforms worldwide. It all came together quite smoothly. And that's precisely what I want to delve into. Not in a critical light, as some might speculate right about now. If I were to critique anything here, it would be the criticism itself.
Recently, I came across an article in a magazine. The cover boasted big, neon orange letters screaming 'What's with all the stress?'. The article itself delved into the very heart of that theme. It took aim at the incessant monitoring and comparison prevalent among individuals—constantly assessing who's excelling in what, who's living the healthier life, who's more composed, who's flourishing in love or career, and so forth. The article had an attitude of looking down on those who seem to have everything sorted, almost treating them like they're some kind of rare creatures. It suggested that people should relax and not compare themselves so much.
This sort of attitude on the matter seems all too common to me.
I see it as frustration and giving up too easily. I don't want to adopt a negative attitude towards those who manage to handle work, family, health, and their own well-being smoothly. It suggests a lack of confidence and understanding of life and people.?
I wondered how people come to have such a mindset.
(In broad strokes) You encounter individuals who appear to have everything under control. Then, you realize you don't. You might attempt to emulate their success but fail, or perhaps you won't even try. Either way, you conclude that having it all is an impossibility. Maybe because you deem it too challenging, maybe because you're prone to giving up without a fight, or maybe because you're averse to expending the necessary effort and energy. The mere thought of hard work might exhaust you.
And then what?
You morph into a critic. You start picking apart those who strive for constant improvement, who seek to optimize every facet of their lives. You scoff at their relentless drive, resenting your own inability to keep pace. You slap negative, stigmatizing labels on them.
You talk about relaxing and being happy, but you don't realize that these people have decided to keep growing and learning. They're optimistic about their goals, which helps them move forward instead of getting stuck in negativity..
The concept of self-development is pivotal here. Whether it embodies pressure, stress, and hardship, or enthusiasm, passion, and fulfillment. And herein lies the crux: the power lies in your hands. You alone possess the ability to shift your mindset from negative to positive.
If not for the pursuit of self-improvement, what else would give life meaning?
If you're aiming to provide your children with a better starting point than the one you had, how do you plan to achieve that without first elevating yourself to new heights? It's a raw reality that demands acknowledgment. You must carve out your own path to success before you can guide others toward it. Only then can you authentically inspire and lead by example, ensuring that the legacy you leave behind is one of genuine progress and possibility.

Striving for balance across all facets of life, neglecting none, is the path forward. You need not sacrifice your health or relationships for professional success, nor vice versa.
I wholeheartedly endorse the idea of starting each day early, engaging in exercise to kickstart your energy, setting daily goals, approaching work with enthusiasm, maintaining focus and productivity, and enjoying social activities or leisure pursuits in the evening. It's entirely achievable—you simply need to strategize.
The question isn't whether you can have it all, but how you can achieve it all. And that's a question worth pondering.
Rearranging your time can be as simple as tracking, analyzing, and optimizing your activities. If you seek change, you must first fully grasp your current situation, identify areas for improvement, and then take action.
You may argue that it's easier said than done, and you'd be right. However, no one else can do it for you. Only you hold the key to your own fulfillment. Consider this: if you're reading this now, you have access to an abundance of information to guide you toward any goal. You have the internet. You have your intellect. What more could you ask for?
We live in an era where possibilities abound. Social media enables you to expand your network like never before. You can write and publish, create films with your phone, and connect with people worldwide to exchange ideas. The wealth of information available at your fingertips is unprecedented.
Perhaps technology advances at a faster pace than our collective consciousness. Shouldn't that serve as motivation to elevate our consciousness in tandem?
When you question whether self-improvement apps truly enhance our lives or merely foster control, you're asking the wrong question. It's ludicrous to expect an external entity to single-handedly improve your life. Our era of open access should inspire us to engage our minds even more. Sit down, strategize, and pursue your aspirations with vigor.
You have everything you need.
That's it!
