Living Hope // 1 Peter 1:3

Today's verse is one of my all-time favorites! I love how Peter referred to the living hope of Jesus. We know hope does not disappoint (Romans 5:5) and anchors the soul, keeping it from drifting amidst life's storms (Hebrews 6:19). Hope is also what helps keep our eyes focused and fixed on life with God in Heaven (Hebrews 12:2). This hope, in conjunction with faith and love, animates us to live with and for God in our crazy, mixed-up world. So, whatever it is you must face today, face it with a living hope. Know you have a purpose that rises above all the junk of this world. Peter went on to write about how the Lord keeps our eternal inheritance safe in heaven, and it will not spoil or fade. So, let's tackle today with that living hope, shall we? This will help us rejoice even when we have trials and troubles along the way (1 Peter 1:6).
