Living From the Heart

Living From the Heart

Living from the heart is not for the faint of heart. In fact, it is one of the most courageous things we can do.

When we live from the heart, we become the best version?of ourself,?personally and professionally. I made the shift?myself and have seen it in my clients.?It's life-changing.?

When we live and make decisions solely from the head, we rationalize what we want?based on external expectations and sources of?information.?We override and ignore what our body is telling us. But the signals coming?from our internal body provide the most?accurate data for informing?our life and life?decisions.

When we live from the heart, we listen to what our body is telling us, what?makes us feel good,?energized,?healthy, right and at peace--physically,?emotionally and spiritually.?

For?many of us, living from the heart is much easier said than done, myself included. Somewhere along the way, we learned to think from our head only and it got deeply embedded.??It's not a switch?you can?just turn on after years of being programmed to do otherwise.?It takes time to unlearn this?automatic response.

But with awareness?and simple tools tailored to what works for us individually,?we can make the shift.?And when we do, our life changes dramatically.?Life--both personal and professional--is more joyful. Decision-making is easier.?We become unstuck.?We are able to float?downstream vs. fight?against the current.?We live truthfully and authentically, and our efforts and relationships benefit?as a result.

I had the amazing opportunity to participate in a program where attendees were brought through a reflective process and leave with a vision for their life moving forward.?Mine was to live from the heart, and I created this vision board as a daily reminder to myself. It has sat prominently in my office ever since.?

I would be remiss if I didn't acknowledge that I worked with a great coach who helped me make this?shift.?And as a coach myself, helping others to live?from their heart is one of the most rewarding aspects of what I do.

It's rewarding because living and making decisions that are right for you takes courage, and there's no shame in having a partner to help you be courageous.
