IT'S ALIVE !!! (or the power of cognitive services)
Last Friday we hosted a hackathon in Infusion's Houston Office. The theme: 'Hack the Experience Lounge' (for background, the experience lounge is this really cool area in our office where we have the latest tech, gears and toys for us and our clients to experience and experiment with).
We had two teams: Jarvis and Ava. Jarvis' (including yours truly, @Zubair Valimohideen and @Chris Bright) goal was to create a web based control center that allowed voice controlled launch of apps and presentations on any of the many large screens in the experience lounge (think: put oil & gas on screen 3, finance on screen 5 and market update on the main screen). Ava's goal was to watch people coming by, recognize them and perform a mood assessment based on their facial expression.
For Jarvis, we put together an ng2 front-end to host the control center and capture the audio stream, create an Azure Cognitive Services model to capture intent and create a NET Core local service to route and remote launching apps and urls on the target screens.
After four hours, chicken and beer we had a working iteration. Check it out below.
So the take away from the hackathon: Azure Cognitive Services is an extremely powerful set of services that democratizes the use of artificial intelligence in business apps. If you are not thinking about how to harness AI capabilities in your mobile, web or desktop apps, you need start thinking about it now. Reach out an we'll help you get started.
Want to develop those type of things? We are always looking for great people to join the team, so reach out and lets talk!
VERY Cool! Love the hack!
