Lived a dream. Onto the next

In the last 19 Years, I have been fortunate to work with this amazing organization called SAP. I have learned many new things, built lasting friendships, crafted great moments with colleagues, transformed businesses with our products and many more, that it’s hard for me state everything here. SAP has been so ingrained in my life and perspective. This place has given me respect, recognition, confidence to achieve anything and played a significant role in shaping up whom I am and what I am today.

SAP also has shaped my perspective on what makes a great place to work. The company has set a gold standard. That is first and foremost thanks to the people at SAP. Over the past years, I have met amazing people and built lasting friendships all around the world. There were so many great shared moments that will be forever part of my life.  My time at SAP also taught me that with confidence you can achieve anything that you set your mind to.

When I joined SAP back in 2001, I had one specific goal: to learn how large companies like SAP scale their business.  The ability to scale was one of the pain points in my family’s business. The initial plan was to work in the corporate world for a short time, learn as much as possible, and then return to my family’s business to expand it. But after I joined SAP, this plan slowly faded away.

Being at SAP expanded my horizon. It gave me tremendous career and personal growth opportunities. I did not want to stop learning and ended up working in almost all of SAP’s functions, including Consulting, Quality Control, Partner Ecosystem, Product Development, Support, Cloud Delivery and Infrastructure Services, among others. Hardly any other company on this planet can give you the opportunity to work across a broad spectrum of business units and organizational functions. This is what truly differentiates SAP from other companies.

In my last years with SAP as President of SAP HANA Enterprise Cloud, I had the fantastic opportunity to put the SAP global enterprise cloud services organization on a growth path. I was given the task to transform the Enterprise Cloud Services Organization and rethink its value proposition to our customers as part of SAP’s overall cloud strategy. This required leading the team through an organizational change. What I learned is that when team members are empowered to put the customer first, they can achieve miracles. The SAP HANA Enterprise Cloud is one of the most significant accelerators in our cloud business and a secure path for customers to move to SAP's Public Cloud.

At SAP Labs India, I had the privilege to work with more than 9,000 of the world’s best engineers. It was critical to foster a culture of innovation to empower these bright minds to define the future of SAP. By nurturing an entrepreneurial mindset and culture, we established SAP Labs Bangalore as a world-class innovation powerhouse. SAP Labs India has become the number one place to work in India, because we help everyone to unleash their potential and we share a common purpose to make the world a better place. I deeply believe that the secret to success is to take ownership. “Run it, like it’s yours” and make the task your own.

I am grateful that I could be part of SAP’s success. We have built this place together as a family with pride, trust, and mutual respect.

Now it is time for me to start a new chapter in life. But wherever my path will take me in the future, SAP and my time with you will always be dear to my heart. As I always say ‘My blood is blue and it will always remain blue, The bright SAP Blue’.
