T - Minus 285 Days
It was a typical Saturday where Bob, Greg, Richard and I would roam for hours through unknown wooded acres of rocky hills and hidden creeks or ponds.
Except it was freezing - but at 12 we didn't care skating over any ice and playing war with heavy wet snowballs that literally stung the target.
"Where have you been?" Mom screamed.
Before I could say anything, she said "I don't give a FLIP!"
I just laughed and then it dawned on me that she had been waiting and needed some chore done.
It's probably why I say it today in the rare instances I get angry ;)
We didn't have GPS and if you got hurt you still had to walk all the way home.
The only time someone cared where you were was when they wanted you to do some chore.
When you grow up learning how to take care of yourself, it makes you so much tougher.
Daily Mission: Just laugh about the old days and workout or do some Spring cleaning without being glued to your smartphone.
