A live recording - How to deal with bullies at work
I ran this webinar for care-workers. We made it anonymous so people felt able to ask questions safely. Because bullying/harassment and all manner of terrible ways to treat people are alive and well in so many teams, I've made this presentation public.
HOW TO USE THIS PRESENTATION:
·???????? You can use it for personal use
·???????? You can take your children through it – bullying in schools is rife
·???????? You can take your team through it and use it as a framework for creating a better, safer work environment
·???????? You can use it to create a bullying philosophy for your business so new people joining your business know that bullying will NOT be tolerated because...
Bullies appear in all aspects of our lives. We meet them in schools, universities, our families, our social world and they’re particularly prevalent in the workplace.
I’d been working with care-workers and they seem to attract abuse from all quarters: their patients, patient’s families, co workers and of course their bosses. I was asked by their senior nurse if I could help them deal more effectively with the daily abuse they were receiving because stress levels were high, absenteeism was rife and turnover was at record levels.
I put together this PowerPoint presentation for them where I covered:
·???????? What bullying IS & what it ISN’T
·???????? The difference between bullying, harassment and sexual harassment
·???????? Why you? Why do some people seem to attract such treatment over and over again?
·???????? How people tend to react to poor treatment (deny it’s happening, ignore it and hope it will go away – it won’t)
·???????? The health effects of constant belittling on a person’s self esteem
·???????? What to do and what NOT to do if you think you’re being bullied
·???????? What to say to someone who is harassing & minimising you
·???????? HOW to say it so you don’t end up in an argument
·???????? How to use the power of closed questions
·???????? Understanding the ‘broken record’ technique so you keep the discussion on track
·???????? What not to say EVER
·???????? How to deal with reactions to you saying ‘I have difficulty when you …….’ And there WILL be reactions
·???????? What people can do if they ‘observe’ someone being treated badly
·???????? Some TEAM strategies for removing bad behaviours from the workplace

Bullying thrives when no-one says ‘this is not ok’.
This webinar will teach you how to say what you need to say and it will absolutely teach you how to negotiate better behaviours.

7 个月HI Ann - a blast from the past. Is it possible to purchase a transcript of this webinar and/or are you going to turn it into an eBook or book? It's an important topic today, not just today, but having the strategies is important.
