Live out of a car or Build an Empire.. the choice is up to you.

 Imagine being a first generation American, born in LA and put to work at the age of 10.  You begin with just selling Christmas cards and newspapers, then eventually you "graduate" to being a gang member. This is the story of John Paul DeJoria , his beginnings seem to put the odds against him. Rather than succumbing to his predicament, circumstance, and unfortunate choices, he changed his life trajectory. Taking out a 700.00 loan, he started what we know as the internationally recognized brand of John Paul Mitchell Systems. He began door knocking and selling shampoo while living out of his car.  His eventual success didn't happen overnight, but the simplistic repetition, faith, and tenacity of door to door sales was the foundation of a future empire and the beginning of what would allow him to diversify into mobile phones and diamonds!

For you this may sound familiar - your proverbial "door knocking" may be this week, month, quarter, or perhaps year.  But remember, if it came easy -EVERYONE WOULD BE DOING IT. Success goes beyond skill - it requires will, tenacity, but most importantly RESILIENCE. To possess and display each one, is a CHOICE!

Moral of the story: If my friend John Paul can take 700 dollars, living in his car, and other extreme dire circumstances and turn it into a worldwide conglomerate why can’t we take a turn down in leads, double declines,  a marketing shift and push through toward success? The answer is simple: DON’T make excuses or be a product of your circumstance. Your will, determination, faith, resilience and drive are ALL controllable variables that can ultimately create your reality. The difference is you are placed in an organization that has laid out the plan, support, and resources for you to succeed. So, I have two questions for you: What’s holding you back? What are you going to do with your circumstance – live in a car or create an empire?
