Live like butterflies giving sweetness

I like butterflies.. They are delicate, colorful, swift.. Even though they are defenseless, they play an important role in Eco system..They represent freedom, movement, variety, beauty, gentleness..Not all butterflies life span is reduced to weeks, some may live about 9–12 months. Its their appearance that make them so much fascinating, several stories, poems, pictures and paintings that depicts butterflies as lovely creatures. It seems they are like flying flowers to kids, nectar feeders and are not even a pest or they don’t harm us in any respect.

Also the metamorphosis of caterpillar to a butterfly is most fascinating. We could’t completely solve the mystery behind it till now. Its true they are fascinating, a small crawling worm like creature in one half of its life gone to sleep in its own blanket only to reappear as the most beautiful creature we have ever seen. Some people are repelled by butterflies. Some people dislike all insects including butterflies. Some people have a phobia just for butterflies.

Many people are afraid of butterfly wings. They see the moving wings and get scared. Even the sound of flapping wings scares them. Some babies and toddlers are afraid of winged insects but not crawling insects. A baby can see a giant cockroach as food and a butterfly as a predator. I conjecture that there is an inborn fear of wings in babies. Apparently, there is no inborn fear of insects per se. The wings of birds and insects scares many people, young and old. Some butterflies mimic predators. Some have big black dots that look like eyes.

So an animal may think it is a snake camouflaged in the vegetation. Some have pseudo-images of snakes and spiders on their wings. So a person that does not know it is a butterfly may react as if it were a predator. A close, calm look will show a butterfly that actually is quite pretty. Moths are somewhat scary because the fly at night and they have no bright color. A white moth may look like a wraith. Many of the superstitions concerning butterflies and moths may arise from predator mimicry. For instance, the Atlas moth imago is believed to represent bad luck.

Of course, the Atlas Moth imago can’t even eat or drink. It is helpless. However, it has a jack o lantern face on its back with snakes coming out of Jack’s ears. The face lights up in moonlight. So I imagine this conjecture look made people think it is bad luck. However, this is just natural fakery to protect a very vulnerable animal. They are beautiful and entirely unable to hurt people. Bees are actually much more important as pollinators, but most people are less scared of butterflies than of bees. So, you can talk to people about planting things for butterflies, not using pesticide, etc., and then more easily introduce the idea that bees need help, too.

As far as raising them at home, I love the different stages they go through, and also that they are so tame when they first come out of their chrysalis. I am able to hold them gently, quite often, without them flying away immediately. This is something I can’t do once they have been free for a while, so I appreciate this brief opportunity. The Common Blue Butterfly Polyommatus icarus is a native of Europe and Africa. It belongs to the family Lycaenidae and the larvae and pupa are found in association with ants. The adult is strictly the sexual stage and survives for perhaps 3 weeks. After laying her eggs, she dies. The eggs hatch into caterpillars which feed on members of the pea family. The pupae hatch most often in the summer so the adults are seen from May to October.

Butterflies are nature’s precios gift to human beings. These gracious brightly coloured diurnal creatures are the prime attraction to all of us specifically children. Butterfly abundant ecology is considered rich in biodiversity as they pollinate wild flora to great extent. Also, butterflies and their development stages are the main food source to wild fauna. Butterflies are useful in many other ways too. International trade in dry butterfly specimen is increasing at fast rate. Establishment of museums and amusement parks specifically oriented to butterflies are on increase. Also, the caterpillars reduce weeds to great extent in nature as natural control agents.

But not all the butterflies are beneficial to us. Some of them are deadly pests to our previous crops. They damage and cause severe economic loss. The citrus butterfly and cabbage butterfly are among the list of such harmful butterfly species. Because butterfly gives us a beautiful message. You are a born winner, never lose hope let them say what they want, don't stop yourself, be yourself. Butterfly is a proud member of Arthropoda and she(I am assuming butterfly as female) is born with wonderful qualities but half of the humans are not good with insects (Arthropoda). They find them creepy, six legs and the walking style of them, their touch irritates them But butterfly proved them wrong and that’s why butterfly is beautiful. We should learn from butterfly that if we belong to a community which is not well respected then we shouldn't care about it. We should just be ourselves. Cheers!
