Live a Life with No Regrets

Live a Life with No Regrets

ANNOUNCEMENT: Out of the nearly 500,000 people who subscribe to my newsletters, I'm seeking a tiny number to join a community I formed last year called Bend Reality .

There are three criteria for what makes someone a good prospect for our community:

  1. You have a deep desire to have no regrets when you near the end of your life.
  2. You are willing to do the work now to ensure your desire will come true.
  3. You make most decisions out of love, rather than fear.

If this sounds like you, there are more details here .

*** Near the end of your life, as you sit in a rocking chair on the porch and contemplate your time on Earth... will you know that you used every single ounce of your potential?

The odds are pretty good that this newsletter alone will not be the trigger that unleashes your full potential.

I don't get many letters that start, "Once I read your newsletter, Bruce, I immediately sold my house and started hiking towards the Arctic Circle."

So what might be your trigger?

Since you probably don't yet know the answer, I have a simple suggestion: that you start being much more open and receptive to such a trigger.

Hint: it may be near you already, but you've been ignoring—or minimizing—it.

Somewhere on the path that lies ahead of you, that trigger exists. The universe WANTS you to thrive.

Pay attention.

Open your eyes, heart and spirit.

Be ready. And… remember this principle:

Your environment always wins.

You yearn to be entrepreneurial, but work in a company that has five planning meetings for each actual meeting. Or perhaps you harbor a desire to be the most organized and impressive member of your team, but you work in an office that looks like a college dorm the morning after a keg party.

Your environment always wins. The secret to getting what you want is to design a daily environment that supports your goals.

There are many ways to shift your environment, but one of the best is to surround yourself with people who want what you want.

If you want to be a soccer player, hang around with soccer players.

If you want to be a world class musician, hang around with the best musicians you can find.

And if you want no regrets when you near the end of your life, spend as much time as possible with people who have a similar aspiration.

P.S. For many years, the Rocking Chair Test has been my tried-and-true way to make important life decisions. I picture myself sitting peacefully in the last weeks of my life and wonder: which decision will this older version of me be happy that I made?

?Your environment always wins.? I love this statement. As a Senior Dermatologist, I constantly change (or at least try to change) the lifestyle of my patients, especially those with chronic skin diseases like acne or rosacea.

No regrets. No anxiety, worry, pain and hatred toward yourself over some action or inaction. To genuinely have inner peace. A beautiful state to be in. Great post, Mr. Bruce
