Live to Inspire-Be The Inspiration
We all want to be an "Influencer," but I think the message of an influencer has become very clouded. We believe that by living an extravagant life, we are an influencer. The shiny cars, beautiful houses, the girls, we have lain to that success is just the "stuff" you can get. Because of this, any ad or any video you see is only women, cars, and money. Because of that advertising, we all think that influencers must have cars, money, and houses. But in reality, we really should practice what we preach.
The Blame
Now I can't blame these "Influencers" because, honestly, we love it. Kids and adults of all ages NEED money, cars, and girls. We see it as power, happiness, and fulfillment. But in reality, it is a burden. We don't see it until we have the money, cars, and girls. Happiness does not come with the "stuff" it comes with the journey. So, yeah, see those models and vehicles. That is something you could have, but don't make it the reason why you start.
We, as a society, click on those ads, those videos, those blogs. Let us be honest. You saw the flashy car in the picture above, and immediately you were interested. You see those ads, and you know the ones. They start with the models and the girls; then it cuts to, "This could all be yours! In one simple payment of $973! Guys this is on sale! Trust me, this is worth well over $10,000, BUT I am giving it to you for over 50% off!" Do I need to keep going?
Usually, I'm not particularly eager to point fingers because there are always three fingers pointing back at you. So what I will say is that it is our fault, BUT it is ethically wrong for those people to reap the reward from our weakness. Anyone who prays on your vision of success should be treated as an enemy of the state. They sell the "idea" of passive income, but they are out there selling courses to you and I. That is their "passive" income. Most of these guys do not host live webinars. If someone is posting an ad somewhere and selling you either a free item, a webinar, or the "passive" income life, then it isn't real.
If you want to blame someone for this, blame your vision and your easily influenced mind. Our society seems to forget that you do not get anywhere in life by collecting money on a beach. Most people that can do that aren't selling you ads on the internet, they aren't sitting on a beach, and they are most likely still working their ass off because they love the process.
Social Media
Instagram is probably one of the classic examples. The platform is very visual-based. If you want to sell a dream, then make sure you take "perfect" angle pictures. Make sure you look your best at all times. Most importantly, make sure you take at least one photo of how happy you are in your dead-end relationship.
I'm sorry, I don't mean to be so mean, but when you believe all of the lies and the BS for so long, then finally realize someone isn't as "Awesome" as they say they are. Then the world seems a little bit emptier. Please do not mistake this for me being depressed or anything. I am much happier now than six months ago. I have come to terms that people suck, and we will believe most things that come from the internet. And I also watch people like CoffeeZilla who call out these "Success" sellers. And man that makes me sometimes laugh until my tummy hurts.
With Instagram being the oldest example in the book now Tiktok, Facebook, and Youtube are making these types of things more common. (Some people have been doing this since the beginning of time. Don't get me wrong, but since the internet has become widely popular now it is more common to do these things on Social media). And let me tell you how many Youtube ads I have been served on starting a dropshipping store. If you accidentally click one, guess what, you get them all! Every single, "I can help you make money online." I was even served an ad on how to make a course on how to make money online. "No skills needed." ??No wonder why our intelligence declines each year. Does it seem smart to make a course about selling courses, or about a skill that you don't even have? F*ck no! ??That was the answer in case you were confused.
Now with Facebook, it is a little more subtle. Still in your face but a little more subtle. Because you can scroll past it, on Youtube nope, "Oh, look a video I might like." *click* "This is going to be a great video I'm sure of it." *Page Loads, the ad starts* "WAIT WAIT WAIT you can start an Amazon FBA business today! All those other guys are liars! We are number 1 in the indust..." *Clicks skip* I must say though that five seconds is the longest five seconds of my entire life. Regardless of how I feel once you click one ad even on accident, you are in the funnel.
Tiktok is a whole new breed. Now not only can you show off your cars, houses, and money, then you can talk another 45 seconds about how to live a happier life. Afterall you have our attention now that you showed us the Porche, Lambo, and Ferarri. Not all of these guys are bad, but some of the same old marketing tactics are there, and it bothers me. I want to see genuine content. There is, it is just deep in the haystack.
The Real People
Now I was hesitant about putting this list together because there are people who have changed over time. And like I always say if you aren't evolving, then are you trying? I wanted to give the world a small list of people who influence me and don't just want to sell you that course to make a quick buck.
- Alan Spicer
- Simon Sinek
- Tom Bilyeu
- Tony Robbins
- TheRussianBadger -Model your gaming channel after him.
- Gary Vaynerchuck
- Nick Nimmin
- David Goggins
- Elon Musk
I will most likely add to this list over time because I know there are more than just these people. These are the people who have inspired me time and time again over the past six months. Nothing will ever change unless you make the change. I do not want anyone to hook onto one influencer and say, "They are right everyone else is wrong." We tend to do that with the loyal following. I also don't want you to drift and not be able to follow a specific person and execute on your plan. So let us go in the middle to pick a person on this list or not. Always ask yourself, "Are they doing things ethically, right?" Take a step back and answer that. I like to look at things in other people's shoes and as many perspectives as possible. I am open-minded. Which means I have seen through a lot of the BS that lives online.
Do You want to Influence?
Everyone should want to inspire people. They should want to change the world. But if you can't live the lifestyle, then find something else to do. I focus on helping people define their success for themselves. So if you thought your successful journey was to be an Instagram model, and it just too hard and you hit too many roadblocks, then maybe it isn't for you. Knowing when to quit and start over is the key to success. Perhaps you are better at working at Mcdonalds. You are happier serving customers at fast-food restaurants than the fancy office jobs. Guess what, you can excel at that. It would be best if you put yourself in an environment that you can thrive. Not everyone needs to be on Instagram or Facebook to influence people. You say, "Good morning" and "Have a nice day" can change someone to do the same for their next encounter. Kindness spreads like a virus if we let it.
All right, if you read this far, then I am assuming you want to change your life or help someone else. Do you want to know the secret? There is no secret to being a millionaire or a billionaire. There is no secret to being successful on your terms. It is a matter of setting a vision and taking action to lead to that vision. There are going to be downfalls. You will experience hard times. Your life may seem like it comes to a complete halt. If you fall 20 times, make sure you get up just one more time. There is always a way out; we have to find it.
Be the Influence
When you go back to your day after reading this article, I want you to understand that influencing is tiring. You will go through many bumpy roads. Especially if you aren't just putting up a front. You want to inspire people to be entrepreneurs, then go out there and try to start a business. Please go through the hard times and show people what it was like. You will never be able to show them every step and every heartache because everyone's journey is different. You may experience a crash when you first start the business others may when the business is well established. This is why I stress; no course can show you how to "start a business."
Once you find that needle in the mile-high haystack, it feels incredible. You want to watch every video from start to finish. You want to subscribe to them and buy their books. You want to share them with others. You want to give them all of your attention. I want to be that needle. Not so I can show off the cars, houses, or money. I don't do it for that I do it to help at least one person that watches my videos, reads an article, reads one of my books. All of the posting all of the hard work is worth it if we impact people. No engine rev, no hot tub, no model can give you a better feeling than a message that says, "You changed my life." We should all strive to be that needle. BE the inspiration; don't just talk and post pictures about it.
