Live for God, not for men!

Live for God, not for men!

If you have done a number of good works, you will have a great reputation in the eyes of men. Thus 1 Corin. 3:12 says ,the glory and righteousness which you have received by the man that appear to be 'abundant' is like how the trees, grass and straw are abundant. How much did you give to God? Or how many hours did you pray? That's not the most important question! Instead the important questions are, have you given to the glory of God? Or did you pray? Or did you do them to seek your own glory? According to Paul's 1 Corin.10:31, Jesus expectation of us today is that even if we eat, drink and all things whatever we do that should be done to the glory of God!

Thus, every ordinary routine of our daily life, even from eating and drinking must be done to the Glory of God.

In the Old Testament, all the works of religion were done on the seventh day, the Sabbath. The people did their own personal affairs for 6 days of the week. But in the New Testament, all the days are considered as holy days ,without having any distinction between ordinary days!

Now, whatever we do in the New Testament, we must do only for the glory of God. For this, Jesus is a good example for us! In His 30 years of life in Nazareth, He never had anything to do with religion. Yes, Jesus gave glory to God by doing chairs and furniture in his carpentry!! He obeyed His earthly parents and glorified God! In this way we understand the true meaning of life following Jesus!!

Prayer:

Heavenly Father of Love! From today, we come to repent and live for you, from the life that 'man see'! In the name of the Savior Jesus, Amen.
