Live each moment as if it’s your last. You. Never. Ever. Know. Imagine with me for a moment that this morning, when you said goodbye to your family, it was the very last time ever. Imagine if you are a dancer or musician or writer that the very last dance you danced, song you sang, note you played, or word you wrote was the very last time you could ever do it. Imagine if you are an entrepreneur, that the very last idea that burned in your heart to see come to pass was the last one you would ever have. Imagine that the job you love so much were to vanish tomorrow. Imagine.
The list could go on and on.
I was twenty-eight years old. Healthy, worked out every day, a successful business woman, and six months pregnant. I rolled over in the night. Scar tissue from a previous C-Section twisted my colon as the new life inside me moved. I came so close to death that the doctors and surgeons who worked with me said it simply was not my time to go.
After a near death experience.
After the baby died.
I lived.
To live every day as if it is my last became my life mission.
My daughter loves ballet. She fought through 23 broken bones because she loved to dance so much. She danced every single practice full out as if it were the last time she would ever dance again. She understood. She had lived the “was that the last time ever?” question over and over again.
If the hug you just gave was your last, would you have hugged a little longer?
If the words you spoke the last time you spoke to someone were your last, would your words have been a little sweeter?
If the effort you poured into your work today was your last time ever, would you have given more?
I challenge you today. Look at life differently. Look at your life work differently. Look at your relationships differently.
Close your eyes for a moment each day, and imagine that is the very. Last. Time. Ever.
And live like that.
A great reminder to take stock in life's everyday gifts..

4 年When I started to live life, packing up, giving away my things, so that when I leave, I don’t leave a whole junk of stuffs for my family to clean up. I started to call friends to say thank you, and good bye somewhat. You know what I found? Liz Franklin ?? I started to really LIVE!!!! ??

4 年"Live each day like it is your last." This is such a negative message. I prefer "Live each day as though you may live forever. Don't be afraid to plan for the future, to dream. But live each moment as though it may be your last. Never let a chance to tell someone that you love them.
