Live This Day with Childlike Wonder
"And he said: 'Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.'" - Matthew 18:3 (NIV)
Just as a child finds joy in the simplest of things, let us rediscover the wonder and awe of God's love for us, manifested in His creation. Seek to approach each day with a curiosity and enthusiasm similar to that of a child.
God invites us to pause and marvel at the beautiful details of His handiwork, "The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands," (Psalm 19:1). We cannot truly grasp the depth of the kingdom of heaven if we do not approach our Father and Creator with a childlike wonder.
We delight in His creation because it points us beyond itself to the Creator Himself.
When we gaze upon the majestic mountains, the vast oceans, the boundless skies, or the beauty of flowers, we catch but a glimpse of His power, wisdom, majesty, and beauty. These wonders are but a reflection of His glory, stirring within us a longing to behold our Father, our Creator.
But still, let us not be content with merely admiring the beauty of creation, let us allow it to draw us closer to the heart of the Creator. As Psalm 104:31-34 reminds us, it is God Himself who fills our hearts with wonder and praise.
So, the next time you step outside, take a moment to admire the sights and sounds of nature, allowing it to point you back to the One who made it all.
Power of Discussion Question:
When was the last time you intentionally took a moment to appreciate and admire God's creation around you?
