Advice for writers:

  • Compose your first draft by getting it all 'on the page'
  • Edit that draft until your content is cut in half
  • Edit again until your content is cut in half, again
  • Confirm your original message is in tact
  • Press send

Caution for presenters:

  • Any time spent reading words on your slides is time not spent listening to you or watching you

Advice for interviewees:

  • Keep a 2-minute timer handy
  • Each time you're asked a question, start the timer
  • If it expires before you finished answering, interrupt yourself to ask the hiring manager, "Have I answered your question?"
