Microsoft's latest Windows 11 update has been released, and it includes a minor change that might have a significant impact on you and your team.
Microsoft has given Copilot, its helpful AI companion, a new location on the taskbar. No more looking around for the button. It now sits on the far right of the taskbar, in what we techies refer to as the'system tray region'.
If Copilot is not your thing, don't worry. You may easily remove it from the taskbar completely. However, having an AI assistant at your fingertips can be a significant productivity boost, so we urge you give it a shot before dismissing it.
Before you rush to see if your Copilot button has been relocated, let's go over the details.
First and foremost, this upgrade has been trickling out over the last few weeks.
Patch KB5034765 (catchy name) does more than merely move buttons around. It also contains key security and bug patches, including one for Explorer.exe. This was causing certain PCs to freeze when restarted with a game controller connected.
It may not be an issue in your business, but you never know.
There was also an issue with sluggish announcements from Narrator, the screen reading feature. That has been fixed.
While this Windows 11 update may appear insignificant, it is these minor changes that can greatly streamline your workflow and prevent your team from being distracted by problems while working.
