The Little Things

The Little Things

We take the littlest things for granted. When I was taking the train into NYC listening to my music mix, taped from my records and favorite radio station, on my bright yellow walkman, I never thought X amount of years later, my phone would house it all. Did you?

We take for granted our creative genius. The reality is we are evolving. What is normal today will be mute tomorrow. There is an app for everything.

But here is the deal. We cannot let technology and the fast pace we all keep to hinder our appreciation for a hike in the mountains, the soft sands of a beach, or stepping outside to breathe in the fresh air that is free to share (at least for now). We have to honor the little things.

A kind word goes a long way. Forgiveness is free and freeing in and of itself. Love does not have to be reciprocal. Patience is truly a virtue. Appreciation builds up. Gratitude is priceless.

If there is one lesson I have learned, it is to be kind. Everyone has a story.
