A Little Romance ????

Dear Reader,
January 2024 has surpassed 1.5° of warming above pre-industrial levels - the warmest January on record. It marks now 12 months in a row above the benchmark we had set ourselves, as a human collective, not to breach - if we were to avoid the worse scenarios of climate breakdown within this century.
For those of us working in climate and facing the facts on a daily basis, hope is a hard beast to tame. Not only is it hard to stay hopeful - in the climate space, the sense of urgency, the lack of funds, understanding and support can often drive us into burn out.???
How is one to stay sane and optimistic in the midst of chaos?
We do not hold definitive answers to this question, however, over several years in this space, we've developed our own inner “resiliency toolkits”. Humans are extremely ingenious and creative beings, and we owe it to ourselves and future generations to do everything in our power to reverse the damage and trajectory we are on. Learning to navigate complexity and taking care of ourselves and others is part of the job.
Within our resiliency toolkits lays a little romance that never fades away - the ability to fall in love again and again - with the world, with life, our daily work and beloved ones. There lays a sense of connection and community - the knowing that we are not alone, and it is on all of us, together, to bring about change in service of all life. ????
?
Next month, on March 25, we will be joining the Change NOW summit in Paris, where we will host a CSO Awards Reception ??
It is a great honour to join such an inspiring gathering of impact driven change-makers, to strengthen our collective resiliency toolkits - bringing about deeper connections, practicing stubborn optimism, and living a little romance - in the most romantic city of all.
