The Little Known Meeting Hack That Can Change Everything for Financial Advisors with Brad Johnson

Our mission is to partner with elite financial advisors to create unlimited growth and freedom in their business and their life. #DBDL
Throughout my years of coaching advisors, I’ve noticed one of the most common traps they fall into is letting meetings run too long. It may feel like good service, but long, unfocused meetings can quietly chip away at your credibility.
In this week’s episode, I’m sharing The "15-Minute Warning Knock" concept—a simple yet powerful framework to help you set boundaries, improve efficiency and show clients that your time is as valuable as the advice you give.
BTW, this concept builds on episode 81 “Optimize Your Calendar to Maximize Revenue and Freedom,” so if you haven’t listened to that, definitely check it out.
Three Insights From This Week's Episode
“What you will actually start to do if you run appointments longer than 90-minutes, you will start to hurt your own credibility. You will start to hurt your own authority. You will start to hurt your own exclusivity. So, even though you think you’re there to serve and you’re going two, three, four hours, what you're actually doing is hurting your own sales process.”??– Brad Johnson

“Guard your time. It’s all you have.”??– Naval Ravikant
On this week’s episode, I share the "15-minute Warning Knock" framework, a calendar hack I learned years ago. If I could remember the advisor who first taught me this, I would give them credit, but unfortunately that memory has been lost over the years.
One of the people I admire most for building a business in a way that creates freedom is Naval Ravikant, whom I referenced in the above quote. For those unfamiliar with? The Almanack of Naval Ravikant, it is one of my top five reads of all time and explores how to be both “rich” and “happy.” What I love is that he speaks about being rich in relationships, not just money. Much of his thinking helped shape the vision Shawn and I had for Triad, regarding both “doing business” and “doing life.”
After prioritizing your calendar, the next step is to ensure the business does not rely solely on your shoulders for generating revenue. I love?this brief podcast episode?(under five minutes), where Naval discusses “not getting rich by renting out your time.” He specifically references lawyers and doctors and how they can transition from billing for their time to building a business, a concept that reflects the model we coach Triad members on when it comes to “building a business bigger than you.” I hope this sparks a few ideas for building your business in a way that can outlast you.
P.S. If you're curious about what this model looks like, click?this link?to schedule some time with me. If you're willing to bring questions and a genuine desire to learn, I’m happy to set aside time on my calendar to support your journey. Thank you for being a DBDL insider!
