A Little Christmas Sparkle of Magic…

When I ordered my coffee this morning, I was feeling a little sorry for myself. I haven’t seen my son since January, & he’s arriving from Victoria just after X-mas. With the latest border restrictions, this time a COVID outbreak in NSW, I'm nervous that he & his dad won’t be able to cross two states.

As I was waiting for my coffee, a little boy walked by with his father. He had blonde hair, the kind of hair that needs more than hair gel & water to make it straight, & a cheeky grin to boot. I couldn’t help but smile back at him. He walked further on, turned around, & gave me the biggest smile again. Then soon after, turned & smiled this time like a Cheshire cat. I laughed out loud. He must have done this six times. By the end I was waving goodbye each time. It was as if I was seeing off an old friend, boarding a plane for a long overseas trip.

I forgot my pity party. I got my coffee & pushed aside the overwhelming, to it’s okay. You’ll see him again. You life is not hard, you have a lot to be thankful for. Just like that, I let go & let the magic in. I let a toddler make a grown up, lighter & happier in a matter of minutes.

I wished I could have taken a photo to treasure the cheeky grin forever which left a sparkle of magic in my life today. I can’t wait to see my big baby again (see photo), but I thank you Little Man Who Smiled So Brightly At A Stranger today. I don’t know who you are, but I hope Santa gets you what want & a whole lot more in life.

Has there been a little lightness in your day brought on by a stranger or a little event?

Wishing you a fab Happy Festive season everyone! I know some of my connections are in lockdown again, I will be thinking of you.

Wishing you all peace, joy, & a safe 2021. ??
