A little Cheer in the midst of Corona

These are uncertain times and we know the hardships this pandemic has brought to many companies and individuals. The team at TimelyText wanted to share a good news story from one of our employees, to spread a little sunshine on your timeline today. Geoff is one half of our first father/son duo to be employed at TimelyText. His success reminds us of what we do and why we do it. Happy Reading.

My name is Geoff Jablonski and I am a United States Navy Veteran.

In July 2018, I relocated to Raleigh, NC and found myself without a job and in a new part of the country without a social or professional network. After spending over 6 years as an Active Duty Naval Officer, I was forced to move in with my parents due to unemployment. I applied for every technical writer, project management, operations management, and communications job I could find. I tried LinkedIn, Glassdoor, Career Builder, and a number of other professional networking sites attempting to find work in technical writing, communications, or project management. After six months, I remained unemployed.

In January 2019, a friend recommended me to Ronnie Duncan and the folks at TimelyText. Within a week of submitting my resume, the folks at TimelyText called me in for a personal interview and began looking for possible job opportunities that would match my qualifications. Less than a week later, TimelyText had lined up two possible job opportunities (one as a Technical Writer and the other a Project Manager) and arranged for multiple phone and in-person interviews. Finally, less than ten days after that, I received a job offer to work as a Technical Writer for a software company in North Raleigh.

After six months, 60 job applications, and zero interviews, TimelyText took a chance on me with one of their closest clients based on my military background and the recommendation of a friend. Within three weeks of interviewing with TimelyText, I had received a job offer and began working in the civilian sector for the first time.In an age when we hear so often about the struggles of our veterans, TimelyText helped me when I needed it the most. And the help didn’t stop there. Throughout my time as a contractor, Ronnie Duncan was in constant contact with my employer to ensure I met their expectations. Meanwhile, Adrian West was always willing to hear what I had to say and advise me on how things were proceeding and what I should do so that I could achieve my goal of becoming a permanent employee at the company I was contracting with. After 10 months of contract work, I received a staff position job offer, which I eagerly accepted.

Lastly, in late 2019, TimelyText came through for me again; this time, by helping my family. My father, Robert Jablonski, had been unemployed since moving to North Carolina in Summer 2018 and when I asked Ronnie and Adrian if they had any positions for proposal writers, I recommended my dad to them. TimelyText quickly asked for a resume and after the interview process, they were able to find my dad a job as a proposal writer at the same software company I work at.

In the 14 months I have been working with the people at TimelyText, they have all shown themselves to be consummate professionals as well as the most courteous, caring, involved, and genuine people I have ever had the pleasure of working with. Not only are they responsible for helping me to get back on my feet after separating from military service, they were instrumental in helping me achieve my short term professional goals. Finally, they showed how caring, personable, and compassionate they are by giving my dad a chance based largely on my recommendation. Not only has TimelyText taken care of me, they have also taken care of my family. For that I have no words to express my gratitude and thanks to Ronnie Duncan, Adrian West, Kai Heath, and all the folks at TimelyText.

Thank You!

Geoff Jablonski
