Listening to Your Clients Needs

Alright, so this seems like a common sense question and I'm hoping I don't get roasted too hard for this, but...Do you listen to your clients needs?

If you're a freelancer or a business owner, I understand the excitement of finally getting a new client. If they're a good client, they've probably already sent you all the notes and the requirements that they'd like you to read before developing the project.

We're probably used to going in and recording or writing or drawing out whatever it is that the client needs, and then sending it to them, right? And we're professionals, so we do it quick, we do it right, and we want that five star rating!

But sometimes, you'll learn more if you pay a little more attention to what the client wants before you begin. Don't be afraid to ask questions!

If you're doing some audio recording, ask the client if they'd like to do a 'live session' to ensure that you're getting the tone down correctly. Do they want a certain audio format to match the project? It's a possibility that this project could be a passion project for the client themselves, and they just want something read in a specific way, or done in a specific way, that gives it more impact.

The simple point is... Always be open to what your client needs. Don't be afraid to ask questions!
