The U.S. Semiquincentennial Commission invites you to join a virtual listening session to help shape America 250—a monumental initiative to observe the 250th anniversary of the United States.
Beginning now and continuing over the next six years, together with fellow Americans like you we will inspire all Americans and each American to participate in the largest most inclusive commemoration and celebration in our nation’s history.
This history education listening session will take place using Go To Webinar on Wednesday September 16, 2020 from 6-7 PM EDT to accommodate participants from across the nation—especially teachers. To participate click on the “Register now!” button.
History education is central to America 250. Our EDUCATE theme aims to spark deeper awareness of our founding principles, our history, and our democratic process to build broader appreciation of one another—our unique stories and our common humanity. We invite you to join this virtual conversation among history educators and thought leaders exploring how together we can leverage America 250 to improve and enhance history education and increase overall awareness of American history as a legacy for future generations.
After a brief introduction to America 250, the webinar will center on a live on-line discussion involving selected colleagues nationwide with you invited to participate through moderated chat to share insights, feedback, and questions.
